Februry 18th - Week 1 wrap up....

The Games have begun...........

What a way to start the February / March CBD Cellars Corporate Challenge series:- a perfect evening on the water after the not so pleasant start to the day, sun breaking through, a light 12 - 15 knot breeze and calm waters - what more could we ask for? As usual there was plenty of action on the course. Racing was close leaving 2 teams tied for first place in the Beneteau 40.7 division and 2 teams tying for first in the Sydney 36 division. A big welcome should go to our newcomers to the series - the team from RiskSense and our new sponsor Moonshadow Cruises. As usual the champagne, seafood and conversation was flowing on the spectator vessel MV Yarranabbe with a lot of interest being shown in the on-water sailing action.

A big thank you should go to all of the series sponsors who make the event what it is: CBD Cellars, Musto, Queensland Yacht Charter, Pearsons Florist, Vibe Hotel, Bridgeclimb, Moonshadow Cruises and O'Neill Photographics.

We look forward to seeing you and your guests next week....

Team Eastsail

Photos from week one will be available for viewing from on the events page on Shane O'Neills Website and a disc of the series will be available to purchase at the end of week 3 - a great momento of the event for work colleagues and guests:

March 4th 2010 - Week 3 Results

March 4th - Week 3 wrap up.....

What a way to finish the series - the breeze was perfect and the on water action was very exciting with teams pulling out all the stops for the last evening of racing. Yarranabbe was pumping and we even had to break in to the reserve stocks of grog!!

The racing was again very close with the final point score showing very few points between winners and losers. In the Beneteau 40.7 division, after the drop there was only one point separating first and third place.

Congratulations should go to Visionstream, led by Dan Credazzi who ended up with 9 points and came 1st overall in the series in the Beneteau 40.7 division, closely followed by Ericsson and Snowy Hydro, who both finished up on 10 points.

In the Sydney 36 division congratulations should go to Musto, led by Duncan Curnow who came 1st overall in the series, closely followed by TaTa Comunications led by Hamish Lee.

A Special mention should go to Suzette from Queensland Yacht Charters who has generously been sponsoring the event since it began 12 years ago. If you were not lucky enough to win the Grand Prize of a sailing holiday in the Whitsunday Islands last week and if you are looking for a fantastic, quality boating holiday in paradise they would love to hear from you.

It would also be remiss of me not to mention Tom Stanford from CBD Cellars who have been sponsoring the event for the past 9 years - Tom had the room captivated with his "Wine Options" game (I thought he was going to run out of questions the way things were going!) and CBD Cellars have been incredibly generous with their lucky door prizes - I think most of the room ended up with a CBD Cellars goody bag to take home with them! Tom would love to hear from you with your wine orders.

A big thankyou should go to Janene from Moonshadow Cruises in Port Stephens, our newest sponsor whose weekly prize of a weekend for two including accommodation, cruising and 4 wheel driving proved very popular.

Shane and Matt from O'Neill photographics did a fantastic job as usual - we hope that you enjoyed seeing yourself up in action on the screen last week. The photos are available for viewing and purchase on their website www.oneillphotographics.com.au - the pics are on the events page and a full CD of the series can be purchased from them for $275.0

A big thank you should go to all of the series sponsors who make the event what it is: Queensland Yacht Charter, CBD Cellars, Moonshadow cruises, Musto, Pearsons Florist, Vibe Hotel, Bridgeclimb and O'Neill Photographics.

We hope to see you all out there again for the 2010 / 2011 series starting in October / November - contact eastsail@eastsail.com.au for dates and rates which will be released shortly.

See you on the water..........
