Day Skipper Shorebased
45 hour course covering Coastal Navigation, Seamanship
and Meteorology. It is recommended that you complete the
shorebased component before completing the Day Skipper
Practical.
The course is divided into 2 modules that can be completed in
any order but must be finished by September.
(RYA Course Packs are updated in September each year)
Module 1: 18 hours covering Seamanship and Meteorology
Module 2: 24 hours covering Navigation
Course Cost $945.00 per person
This course can be completed in one of 3 ways:-

food on board yacht for 5 day practical - excluding
accommodation & food for shore-based component.
Comprises 5 day Day Skipper Shorebased course
+ 5 day live-aboard Day Skipper practical - $2220.00

All equipment is included. Courses are either 14 week night
sessions from 6pm – 9pm or 5 consecutive days from 8.30am – 6pm

ISAF Safety & Sea Survival*
(Held on Northshore)
An 18 hour course inclusive of wet drills & flare
demonstration. Includes advice on what personal equipment to
buy and what is not good value. Two Cape Horn veterans
as instructors on every course.$460.00

Radar*

1 Day Course giving an introduction to small boat radar, including
pilotage and Nav techniques. includes "hands on" training on a new
Raymarine E120 in the classroom which is integrated with a Chartplotter
overlay, AIS and MAPAR.RYA Certificate Course. 0900 - 1700.$220.00

Follows the syllabus of the marine operators certificate of
