Set sail for a magical experience on Sydney Harbour, one of the most stunning waterways in the world. Hoist the sails, pull the sheets, take the helm and enjoy the feeling of the wind in your hair. EastSail will introduce you to the art of sailing whilst you take control of your luxury yacht during the “Golden Oldies Rugby Festival”. Option 1: Longhorns Challenge – Sailing Regatta

Tuesday September 28th 2010  

The Vikings  Longhorns won the “Spirit of the Festival” award in Edinburgh and now issue a challenge to all participating GO rugby teams to compete in a FUN race on Sydney Harbour (No previous sailing experience required)  

• 1330   Meet the teams at King Street Wharf, Darling Harbour (a short stroll from all festival hotels)  -  introduction of professional skippers
• 1345   Orientation and safety briefing aboard the yachts. Motor out of Darling Harbour, under the bridge, set sails. Crews rehearse sailing manoeuvres and discuss tactics – your professional skipper will guide and train your crew.
• 1500   Teams make their way to the starting line 
• 1420  Starting sequence begins for Race 1– the yachts jockey for the best position on the line. (Your skippers will guide you through the count down to the race start)
• 1426   The race committee fires starters gun! The courses are strategically planned to suit the prevailing winds of the day and take in Sydney’s best sights (bring your cameral!). 
• 1525 - 1620  Race 2
• 1700  Waterside presentation, drinks, canapes and race debrief at “The Loft”, King Street
• 1900  Farewell – walk back to your hotel or kick on into the night!

Rates per Yacht  

• Beneteau 33.7 (5 available) – 6 crew + 2 spectators @  $1995.00  
• Sydney 36 or Northshore 369 (7 available) – up to 10 crew + 2 spectators @  $2795.00  
• Beneteau 40.7 (3 available) – up to 10 crew + 2 spectators @ $3495.00  
• Beneteau First 40 (4 available) - up to 12 crew + 2 spectators @ $3795.00
• Beneteau 47.7 (4 available)  – up to 16 crew + 2 spectators @ $4495.00  

Additional Guests at presentation function @ $95.00 per person  

Inclusions:-  

• 3.5 hours on board our fleet of luxurious, performance Beneteau and Sydney yachts
• Skipper / instructor aboard each yacht
• Race organisation, course design, race director and committee boat
• All insurance, safety equipment, wet weather gear and life-jackets
• 2 spaces per crew on board our spectator boat, MV Yarranabbe with drinks & nibbles
• Cold refreshments aboard regatta yachts
• Post regatta prize giving drinks and canapés for 2 hours at “The Loft”, King Street , overlooking spectacular Darling Harbour and Sydney Harbour

MV Yarranabbe is a 60’ twin hulled luxury motor cruiser. EastSail pride them-selves in taking care of the little details that often go unnoticed, but add to the overall atmosphere on board this vessel.

Departure Point: King Street Wharf, Darling Harbour (a short walk from festival hotels)

Nothing can top our stunning waterways and EastSail has something for everyone… 

What are you waiting for? Take advantage of our local treasure and join us on the water!   Award winning EastSail has a fleet of yachts and cruisers available for skippered charter on Sydney Harbour. Whether it is for a few hours or the whole day, we have a fabulous selection of vessels and can arrange for catering and drinks to be supplied aboard.   We offer a pick up at King Street Wharf, Darling Harbour, a short walk from festival hotels or you can come to our charter base in Rushcutters Bay (10 minutes by Taxi from CBD).

3 hour charters either 0930 – 1230, 1330 – 1630 or 1730 – 2030  

7 hour charters 0930 – 1630
