Course Overview:
STCW 95 is a mandatory entry level safety qualification required by anyone who wishes to work as a professional seafarer internationally. The International Maritime Organization lays down these Standards for the Training and Certification of Watch keepers known as STCW 95. The course is intended for those mariners who wish to work on all classes of vessels internationally. On successful course completion participants will be issued with an internationally recognised, globally transportable, IMO accredited, STCW95 compliant certification specifically targeted at, but not limited to the international white boat industry both sail and power. The course offered by EastSail is unique in that it is the only course offered in Australia where you obtain the following qualifications in one hit saving time and money:
- STCW 95 Certification (required to work on vessels internationally)
- RYA / ISAF Personal Survival Training Certificate (required to race in Cat 0, 1 and 2 races internationally)
- RYA / MCA Basic Sea Survival Course (Mandatory for MCA commercially endorsed Yachtmasters (STCW95 < 200 GRT)
- Marine First Aid Certification which is Australian Work Cover accredited and RYA/YA Compliant. It also meets training requirements for Australian Master 5
- Yachting Australia's Sea Survival Certificate mandatory for YA category 1 and 2 yachts races in Australia
- With a one day "bolt on" course you will also be able to achieve Elements of Shipboard Safety (mandatory for all workers on Australian commercial vessels)
