We have a fleet of modern, commercially surveyed, sail training yachts ideally suited to our inshore and offshore courses and a team of the most highly qualified Royal Yachting Association and Yachting Australia instructors waiting to take you through the ropes. All of our instructors also hold Australian NSW Maritime commercial qualifications in addition to their sailing qualifications so you couldn't be in better hands. Pre-requisites: All requirements to sit for the RYA Coastal Skipper Certificate are included in this programme i.e. Operators Certificate, First Aid Certificate. Seatime for candidates holding the Coastal Skipper Course Completion Certificate is reduced to 400 miles, 20 days living aboard, 12 night hours, 2 days as skipper. For those without this certificate the seatime is 800 miles (in the last 10 years), 30 days loving aboard, 12 night hous, 2 days as skipper.

Yachts used: Fully equipped, commercially surveyed Beneteau 33.7’s and Sydney 36’s for inshore courses and Beneteau 40.7’s and 47.7's for offshore courses
Instructors: Highly qualified, enthusiastic, knowledgeable hand picked RYA / YA Yachtmaster Instructors who also hold local commercial qualifications

Requirements to sit for the RYA Yachtmaster Certificate are Radio Operators Certificate, First Aid Certificate. Other courses included in our programme are recommended. Seatime is 50 days, 2,500 miles including 5 passages of >60 miles measured along the rhumb line and acting as skipper for at least 2 of these passages and 2 of which include overnight sailing. 5 days as skipper. Previous expereince is counted. The EastSail programme, not including optional extra achieves 30 days, 1400 miles, 4 passages >60 miles, 5 days as skipper. The 3 live aboard optional extras plus Hamilton Island Race Week add another 20 days aboard and 1100 miles.
What to bring for sailing: Minimum - Wet weather gear (EastSail will be able to loan some if you don’t have your own), sleeping bag and pillow, sea sick tablets (test any pharmacy line at home to check for reactions), small torch & plastic whistle to be worn around neck, comfortable clothing to include shorts, warm jumper, beanie, thermal underwear, 2 pairs of sailing shoes or white soled sneakers, sailing gloves, hat, camera, book, swimmers, favourite snacks and sweets, toileties, sunblock, CD’s and games, all in one soft sailing or duffel bag (not incl. Sleep bag) - no suitcases!!!
Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to guard against late cancellation due to illness or other reasons.
Cancellation: If you do need to cancel, please give as much notice as possible, this will allow us time to find a replacement crew member & give you the best chance of some refund. If we cannot fill your place on the trip there will be no refund available.
Payments: A 10% deposit is required to secure your berth, a further 40% deposit will be required 3 months prior to the course commencing and the balance will be due 1 month prior to the course commencing.
