RYA Day Skipper Practical Course
Previous Experience Required – RYA Competent Crew Practical plus Day Skipper Shore based or equivalent (minimum of 5 days sea time, 100 miles and 4 night hours)
Ability After Course – Be able to skipper a small vessel in familiar waters by day
This practical course is designed for intermediate level sailors. Learn skills that will enable you to skipper and charter yachts in Sydney or other fabulous cruising grounds worldwide! During this course you will discover the pleasures and pitfalls of taking command. You will have control of the yacht for short passages during which time your instructor will be on hand to offer advice and encouragement, and to ensure that your destination is reached safely. The essential element is that you experience being in charge, taking the credit when all goes well and being responsible when it doesn’t. The end of each day is usually spent around the chart discussing the passages and gaining from each other’s experiences. These offshore courses are taught aboard our Beneteau 40.7 and Beneteau 47.7 yachts.
