After COVID restrictions decimated much of the Sailing Calendar in 2020, EastSail is bringing back our highly anticipated NSW and Queensland Coastal Adventure Courses, Milebuilders and Races in 2021.

This year, we are offering up to 7 Adventure Courses along the NSW and Queensland coasts. With two RYA Instructors onboard, our goal is to sail safely from port to port, giving the opportunity for potential RYA Competent Crew, Day Skipper or Coastal Skipper candidates to gain some serious mileage and work towards completing certification.

Hamilton Island Race Week is booked out! Enquire now for 2022!

Adventure Courses and Milebuilders 2021

Leading out our journey north, we’re offering the first of our Adventure Courses from Sydney to Southport to follow along with the racing fleet. Port visits may include Pittwater, Newcastle, Port Stephens, and Coffs Harbour. Leg 1 will start from Sydney and finish in Southport; Leg 7 will start in Southport and finish in Sydney.

Leg 2 will begin from Southport and follow the Queensland coast all the way to the Keppel Isles in the Great Barrier Reef. Port visits may include Mooloolaba, Rainbow Beach and the Great Sandy Straits, Hervey Bay, or around Fraser Island and up to Lady Musgrave Island, Bundaberg, and finally the Keppel Isles before finishing at Keppel Bay Marina. Leg 2 will start from Southport and finish in Keppel Bay; Leg 6 will start in Keppel Bay and finish in Southport.

Leg 3 and 5 top and tail from either Keppel Bay up to Hamilton Island (Leg 3) or from Airlie Beach to Keppel Bay (Leg 5) as bookends to the Hamilton Island Race Week and our Whitsunday Adventure Course. Explore Great Keppel Island, navigate the Great Barrier Reef, visit the famous Percy Island Yacht Club, or drop anchor off one of the Whitsunday Isles.

Our Whitsunday Adventure Course will set sail out of Hamilton Island and will aim to ‘island hop’ around the gorgeous Whitsunday Group, including Hayman Island, Hook Island, the Lindeman Group and through the Whitsunday Passage to finish in Airlie Beach.

Due to the nature of the yacht layout, and the close proximity of crew onboard the yachts, the following procedures will be in place:

  • The yachts will be following our COVID-19 Procedures, including cleaning and disinfectant policies.
  • Crew will be asked to take a COVID test at least 72hrs prior to the start of their course so as to ensure the health of all onboard. Crew will not be allowed to join the vessel without a NEGATIVE test result. Crew will also be required to sign and return the COVID-19 Student Declaration prior to the course start.
  • Should the NSW and Queensland borders close due to COVID-19, EastSail will replace the courses with NSW options within the original date ranges.
  • We recommend that you have adequate travel insurance in case of cancellation or postponement due to weather, illness, loss of personal items, injury, emergency evacuation, hospitalisation or other scenarios out of our control. Private health insurance may cover medical evacuation by air. Please make your own enquiries regarding insurance. An example of a company specialising in this type of insurance is EastSail will not be held responsible for costs associated with cancelled or postponed courses.
