Get on board with this high-energy Australian Sailing course! This beginner course covers the fundamentals of sailing and will have you comfortable at the helm in no time. Taught on the beautiful Sydney Harbour, you can enroll as an individual or with a group of up to 5 friends.
Australian Sailing Crew & Helm Course Details
In this Australian Sailing accredited course we will teach you everything you need to know to how to learn to sail. Our courses are taught over 2 full days by certified sailing coaches aboard our exciting fleet of Force 24 and Thompson 7 sports boats. Class sizes are an intimate 5 people or fewer. By the end of this course you will understand terminology and the importance of wind direction. You will also know how to rig and prepare the yachts for sailing, execute manoeuvres of tacking and gybing, understand basic right of way rules, and be able to tie a number of useful basic knots.
Learn all the basic skills and spend a weekend aboard with us. This course is taught over two weekend days. Day 1 starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm for a relaxing debrief and cool beverages. Day 2 starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm followed by complimentary nibbles and the presentation of your Australian Sailing Certificates.
Age minimum is 18 years with reasonable fitness and agility.

This course is a great place to get the groundwork for social sailing on the harbour. If you would like to pursue formal qualifications with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) you will need to undertake separate courses starting here.
