Professional yacht charter companies rate RYA Qualifications #1
March 4, 2015
Renowned the world over, the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) sailing qualifications have been voted the premiere sailing accreditation for excellence and global reputation following a recent survey targeting 200 professional yacht charter companies worldwide.
The survey, undertaken by British yacht charter agency Seamaster Yachting, involved professional charter companies who own and manage in excess of 6,000 charter boats across the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Asia. It was conducted in response to the growing requirement for sailing qualifications by local yacht charter authorities and the increasing international demand for sailing accreditations.
Richard Falk, RYA Training Manager and Chief Examiner acknowledged the work done at local level saying, “Our instructors are passionate about what they do and I am delighted that the quality of RYA training is as evident to those within the charter industry as it is to those who actually deliver the training. Money and time spent on RYA training is a sound investment in ensuring you get the skills and qualifications you have paid for”, said Richard.
The fantastic thing about the RYA system is that we continue to learn and update our methods. There are over 2,500 schools around the world who feed new ideas to the RYA’s Chief Instructor. Then after testing, each year, new information is passed down to instructors and operators at our annual conference. The great thing is the latest information is passed on to our students. What a great system.
With a mix of recreational and professional courses available on the water, in the classroom and online, RYA training is available for whatever level of skill, professionalism or knowledge you want to achieve.
The highly esteemed and internationally recognised ‘RYA Yachtmaster’ qualification was recently recognised by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) and now sits within the Australian commercial qualifications sector and have become the benchmark international standard for yacht skippers.
EastSail offers training at all levels of RYA yacht cruising, both practical and shorebased theory courses.
